1.SSC Combined Matric Level 2011 Exam Staff Selection Commission :

SSC Combined Matric Preliminary Examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The Staff Selection Commission conducts a number of competitive examinations for recruitment to the lower categories of posts in the various governmental offices across India, providing employment opportunities for the Indian youth in the bureaucratic set up of the country.

The SSC Combined Matric Preliminary Examination are held once a year, generally in the month of September for recruitment of lower division clerks, stenographer grade 'D' and stenographer grade 'C' in the various governmental offices.

SSC Combined Matric Preliminary Examination Application Details

Notifications of the SSC Combined Matric Preliminary Examination are published every year in the month May in the Employment News and other leading newspapers of India. Candidates are required to apply as per the proforma 2printed in the newspapers. The last date of submission of completed application forms is usually in the month of June every year. An Examination Fee of Rs. 50 is to be paid by means of Central Recruitment

Fee Stamps or Indian Postal Orders payable to the Staff Selection Commission. Duly completed application forms are to be submitted by the candidate by Registered Post/ Speed Post/ UPC only to the Regional Office of the SSC corresponding to the candidate's examination center.

2. SSC Combined Matric Preliminary Examination Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates who have passed the Matriculation or equivalent examination and belonging to age group of 18 to 27 years as on the 1st August of the year in which the examination is being held are eligible for appearing in the SSC Combined Matric Preliminary Examination. Besides Indian nationals, candidates of select foreign origins are also eligible.

3. SSC Combined Matric Preliminary Examination Pattern :

The SSC Combined Matric Preliminary Examination is divided into two stages, each carrying maximum marks of 100 and having a total duration of 2 hours. The First Section tests the General Intelligence of the candidates while the Second Section is on General Awareness. Both the sections contain questions of objective type, multiple-choice pattern. Questions of the examination are set in both Hindi and English. Candidates will be required to qualify each section separately failing which they will not be considered eligible for the main Examination.

4. SSC Combined Matricl Level Examination Syllabus :

General Intelligence : The syllabus for General Intelligence would include questions of both verbal and non verbal type. The test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination observation, relationship, concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidates’ abilities to deal with abstract ideas, any symbols and their relationships, arithmetical computations and other analytical functions.

General Awareness : Questions will be designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, and Geography, economic scene, General polity, Indian Constitution and scientific research, etc.
